A few weeks ago, I felt things changing. No, this is not a puberty talk. I was feeling a change in my sentiments about my career and The Type A Babe. I found myself stressed out worrying about little things instead of enjoying what I was doing. So, I decided to make some changes and do something about it.
First, I made the decision I wanted to take my professional life in another direction. As much as I loved my team, I felt as though I was looking for other things to do during the day, and just knew it was time for me to move on to another role. And then I did something that if you told me 6 months ago I would do this I wouldn’t have believed you. I left my job. Without something lined up.
This was crazy for me, but I was so impacted by things happening in my current role that couldn’t focus on putting in the time needed to think about the next step. So, I took a leap and decided to take some time to really be able to focus on the next step and find the next role that would help me advance my career.
Second, I am making changes to The Type A Babe. My original idea for starting this blog was to create a space where women in their 20’s and 30’s can come to learn about personal finance. And not just the basics that don’t really help. I wanted to provide perspectives on what it is actually like to use different budgets and systems so when you read a post, you were able to not only understand the concept, but also understand how it may fit into your life and if its something you would want to try out.
And this will still be a big part of The Type A Babe. However, I also found my Type A personality going into other areas, and people asking me about these areas as well. So I will be starting to put more posts and blogs up about how I “Type A” other aspects of my life, since I also love doing that. I love a good organized space and my planner, and want to share how I use them with you all!
While all of these changes are amazing, and I know that down the line they will be worth it, I still find it scary. My OCD and Type A personality make it so not having a routine of going into an office everyday makes me incredibly nervous and has been the biggest struggle for me so far. But, I will be taking you along with me on this new era so we can see what it’s like to best optimize time without the classic structure of the 9-5.
Have you ever done anything like this? Or do you work from home and have a routine that you swear by? Let me know in the comments!
